Exactly. Implementing rate limiting in a new platform while they figure out spam/scrape patterns makes sense, especially since Threads is different enough from Instagram. Twitter not having that (or more likely, firing the team that handled it) after having roughly the same gist for 15 years is just idiotic.

I thought the fiat was a good bit, though I really wish the IMAX I went to didn’t completely spoil the Rome chase scene with the “technical preview” or whatever it was. My partner was watching the original series a while back and the gadgetry was always Bond-tech stuff with a bit of Get Smart whimsy

Also Ethan would have absolutely found a way to kill Gabriel on top of the train if he were truly upset about her being dead. Either that or they really didn’t stick the emotional landing (or are saving that for the next movie).

The ability to have discourse over news topics. I bounced hard off of it the same reason I bounced off of Instagram: false positivity and influencers sucking all the oxygen out of the room.

Counterpoint: Google+ was actually good

Solidarity with the writers, but there’s like 10 “must see” shows that I haven’t gotten to yet and maybe 10 “kinda-wanna see”. Plus there’s like 50 seasons of procedurals that I can always fall back on.

Lucy Liu is mine, but she had a lot more show/film to work with. Jude’s definitely up there, though.

Forget you, Clown!

The Idol got bad reviews not because of the “transgressive” nature of it, but because it failed to make the transgressive nature be anything other than transgression of norms for the sake of. It’s boring and hokey, and transparent in that its existence is based on solely ego and nepotism. If Depp and Tesfaye weren’t

The only thing that has me excited for a second one is that it felt like it was just the first two acts of a game. Gameplay got boring quickly, but was okay. Just, all the interesting stuff never got a chance to grow.

Ironically the only thing I remember about the sequel is being super bummed out when her character died.

Same. With metaverse and Threads, I wonder what the next product line we’ll see from them named after late 20th century dystopian science fiction.

Bluesky isn’t finished yet, which is why it’s in invite-only mode. Basically they’re ramping up userbase and making sure that their servers and services can handle the load. Threads is further along in its development than Bluesky, Bluesky just happened to have a far more open Beta due to it being connected to Jack

I wonder if the first Wet Bulb Death Day will be state-side now

Not till you’re fifteen

The point of her dying was to play with the trope of black characters in films, but also have you realize how absolutely screwed she was. It wasn’t a tropey kill, it was her being stuck in the middle of nowhere, with no phone service, with a sadistic serial killer, trying her hardest to get out of there. The episode

Basically how I thought they were going to handle it in R&M

Given the “themes” my dorm RAs would put up in college, I give it a good 90% chance of being real.
