I don’t think we ever had speed cameras in Charlotte. But, we did have Red Light Cameras. A quick google about why the cameras were removed, one of the reasons cited was an increase in traffic incidents.

We used to have a piercing nozzle, about 3' long with a sharp tip and a blunt back end that you could hit with a hammer. We used it for trailer fires, punch it through the side of the trailer and turn on the water.
Those are called piercing nozzles and they’re designed to poke a hole in a roof and deluge attic fires, but like most other tools on the fireground, they will be adapted for other uses like gaining access to difficult basement/crawl space fires.
