Pellegrino's "sad sack" acting is great here.

Narrative episodes need great toppers and this one's was Awesome Sauce. Just brilliantly filmed with Emma's skulking off, the Vacancy pan up, the return of Annika's car but not Annika.

While Norma has acted strangely the whole series, I could not help but think "I guess insanity skips a generation" when she began talking about the dearly departed. Or maybe Grandpa Calhoun dipped into the batshit?

Ranks up there with "piss in a cup"!

I think the Ran So Far Away usage in this one was the most poignant. Philip thinks Kimmie will be, um, fertile ground to run with but he sees his own children through her eyes that he can barely precept his job. Surprised he didn't run after the Afghani intake and her garden story.

I miss the days when The Weather Channel was just a blue screen with words and numbers.

Damn, 31 episodes in and they still make it difficult to choose my favorite. Just a beautiful piece of work in all aspects. I can't even name the best part of SP because it all worked!
