I'm trying to remember if it was a pet mouse or a pet snake that she liked to pull out of her pocket at stuff Washington tea parties.
Didn't TR once say, "I can either run the country or I can attend to Alice, but I cannot possibly do both."?
I told all of my friends that I didn't like this guy that much. That he was "too nice" (what does that even mean?!?) and I couldn't see it. Two years later, we are happily cohabitating and talking about marriage when we get drunk.
If you want the full quote, she also said "... and the child at every christening."
The bride at every wedding and the corpse at every funeral.
Had a girl I was seeing kind of just, up and tell me "I'm not feeling this" a little bit ago. I really dug talking to her, so I kind of said "oh yea, I can DEFINITELY still be pals tho!"
I did this for the longest time with the guy I'm in love with. "If he walked out of my life right now, if we never communicated again, I'd be totally okay! Really! I FEEL NOTHING."
I have resigned myself to my feelings now, though. :\
It's so embarrassing that I used to harbor a major crush on this pee-fleck. To the point that once I saw his interview with Charlie Rose, I frantically erased any references to him being my dream dude on social media.
Yeah, I'm still trying to convince myself I'm not that into my boyfriend. "No, really, if we broke up, I'd probably be fine!"
It's weird how most films (outside the angst-ridden English Patient/Romeo and Juliet/loving someone you can't have…
i think he is also trying to say: my gays
I really, really appreciate this write-up and interview. The original mistakes were obviously very well-meaning, but they were there all the same. I'm close to someone who identifies as ace, and I want to be as supportive of them as possible. I try to be well-meaning, but I'm definitely, 100% guilty of the…
Good on you for doing this follow up, and on Cody for reaching out to give more details about the asexual community. As someone who considered themselves asexual for awhile but now doesn't really hold to any particular inclination, the comments on the first article were challenging for me to respond to but I felt a…
Depends if we're talking New York pigeons or pigeons in places that aren't quite as much of a swirling toxic dump.
I'm not veg, and I get so mad at my fellow meat-eaters when they get hypocritical about what's an acceptable meat and what's not. Vegetarians/vegans can raise objections- you guys truly abstain, but don't tell me horse or rabbit is problematic while chowing down on a hamburger. There are legit reasons to prefer one…
Nah I think this is the perfect attitude. Recognizing that people will eat meat, and insisting that we get the most out of what dies is probably the most rational possible response.
Nicely put. These animals are the other side of the coin to the over-farmed cattle. Between People going hungry, and these animals being thinned out for safety, hard to object.
Being veg, I should be a buzzkill (or so I'm told) but there is nothing wrong with this! The animals are going to die anyway, might as well eat them...if you like that sort of thing. I don't but knock yourself out.
And the whole reason they're doing it is to combat food waste.
