EMT is not one of those jobs.

Yes. If you have a bit of time, read "Quiet" by Susan Cain. We live in an extrovert society where being loud counts a lot more than being thoughtful.

That's because you're not a raging psychopath, dear.

Why is it always rapists and abusers who think their lives are so goddamn wholesome? Like, I've never fucking raped a human being (and never fucking would because I'm not a goddamn garbage person) and I wouldn't go on national TV to talk about how I'm fucking Mrs. Goddamn fucking Cleaver.

Last night I found out the most amazing thing. My mom's memory loss (she's 88) has made her forget my dad was a racist! She gazed at me wide-eyed and said "Oh honey, dad was never like that." BWAAAA. This is a man who would not watch NBA ball because there were too many black people. But he never called them people.

This is something I definitely struggle with: feeling like a fake.

I made this. Feel free to share!

I have found confidence to be a "FITYMI" strategy. If you can get through the blushing, ignore the trembling voice and hands, and get your message across - doing it enough with make all of that go away and leave you a sharper, more outgoing person.

My uncle is a lifelong Republican and he HATES Fox News with a passion for allowing the nuts to take over. He thinks the Tea Party have no place in government and while he's no fan of Obama, he literally laughs at the idea of the man being a tyrant ("a tyrant would get more done.") So there are some in the Republican

Beautiful speech. He's got a clear post presidential career lined up I'm sure.

What greater expression of faith in the American experiment than this; what greater form of patriotism is there; than the belief that America is not yet finished, that we are strong enough to be self-critical, that each successive generation can look upon our imperfections and decide that it is in our power to remake

Do we know the same person? This was a historical event - no matter whom the president was they should have been there and given a speech. It boggles the mind the utter hatred conservatives have for this man.

I rather like this "fuck all y'all" version of Obama we're increasingly seeing as he approaches the end of his presidency.

You go on FaceBook so you can find out which of your friends believes that unpasteurized honey will magically cure cancer.

I meant current leadership. Apparently they sent Kevin McCarthy, but Boehner, McConnell Scalise all skipped it. I guess it's awkward to celebrate milestones of the civil rights movement when your party is engaged in a program of stripping citizens of their civil rights.

To deny this progress – our progress – would be to rob us of our own agency; our responsibility to do what we can to make America better.

this is very 3rd hand - a kid who used to work with my husband (let's call him "skippy") had a friend who slept with him once. he came all over her torso, excused himself for a second, then came back and licked up all his cum.

While perceptive people often recognize mirroring, it's a normal gesture, and a good indicator of how much you're listening to them. You should be more afraid of avoiding it than showing it.

Fair enough. :) This isn't Jezebel after all, so I won't take it too seriously.

Best times to use this technique: 1) Flirting & 2) Interviewing
