You still haven’t said whether you read the entire paper, Carlos. You’ve advised me to read the entire paper. I have not read the entire paper and do not plan on it. Lets be frank - the public who is reading about the study is only reading the headlines and the summaries of people like Beth.

The problem with this type of research is that the researchers classify individuals with predominantly plant-based diets as “vegetarian”, even if they eat some meat (or fish). You are not vegetarian if you eat any meat. Ask a vegan.

As a vegetarian, I find these studies preposterous because they clearly reflect the biases of the lead researcher(s) (and possibly the sponsors) more than anything else. If the intent of the study was to truly compare different types of diets and the risks of heart disease, it would have been more rigorously designed…
