It appears old CPUs in the Opteron, Athlon and AMD Turion X2 Ultra families were affected. Microsoft is saying that they are blocking updates being downloaded for systems with affected CPUs. But I wouldn’t necessarily depend on Microsoft to get that part right.
Also, apparently, they spent $65 million on those fountains outside the Met. Based on the Met’s estimates, those fountains could have paid for tourists’ fees for about a decade.
Well, if we use the argument that the Met is taxpayer-funded to argue that it should be free, then I’m theoretically okay with charging fees to out-of-towners whose taxes don’t go to fund the Met (but yes, $25 is too much for just the main museum, which is all most people will visit).
He appears to have worked *with* Democrats (specifically, Obama’s former White House counsel Greg Craig) in whitewashing Yanukovych’s government. But he didn’t work *for* Democrats, which is an important distinction.
I had this problem recently with a close friend who went to back to school for an MBA. Facebook just became a blur of party and vacation photos.
Given that it is May, I think he also forgot H.A.G.S.
P.P.P.S. Well there’s also the chance Comey might have uncovered a smoking gun on Russia...
“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau.”
I’ve already signed up for this in NYC. It’s sometimes useful, mostly not. The vast majority of scanned mail is junk (which isn’t really the USPS’ fault, I suppose). But I’ll often get a message saying “A mailpiece for which we do not currently have an image is included in today’s mail.”. This unscannable mail usually…
There’s yet another rule he’s violated by tweeting:
Well the AARP just came out against the replacement bill. And one thing old people do is vote; so hopefully, this convinces at least 3 Republican senators to back away from this dumpster-fire of a bill.
I don’t think the article makes it fully clear why the Supreme Court turned down the case. As Amy Howe from SCOTUSblog explains:
That was my first reaction as well. However, looks like the distinction might be a legal one, if Oklahoma is any indicator:
Easy: they don’t view the very people they are supposed to serve as human.
Actually, once you factor in legal costs from multiple appeals, a death penalty case costs much more than a life in prison case. Also, housing death penalty inmates is more expensive.
Setting the morality (or lack thereof) of the death penalty aside, I feel like people who would now view Dylann Roof as a martyr would still have viewed him with admiration even if he got life in prison. Why should those people’s opinions matter any when it comes to giving Roof a worthy punishment?
So, I auditioned for Jeopardy back in June and this week they gave me a call. I’m flying to CA in a few weeks to tape! Really excited but also quite nervous...
I miss it - it was like a sign saying “Yes, you’re right in assuming this guy is a douchebag”.
