Each to their own, but I found the season, and especially the frantic all-over-the-place finale, brilliant - maybe the best they’ve done (though maybe not the initial Diane/Kurt storyline). I was hesitant about Wackner’s court but found it actually a highlight and a good vessel for the stories (if metaphorical) they

Honestly, I never liked them and always barely pay attention. Much rather I see the queens performing with their own stuff.

This feels like the gone-mad-sequel of Joanna Eberhart*.

I never quite understood why but I will forever have a little crush on Culkin.

Actually, I am in Europe and used to live in the UK. You may have a fair point when it comes to ‘thinking about Asians’ that the UK may be more focused on South-Asians but pretty much the rest of the world, not just the US, isn’t.

That really wasn’t the point of my comment...

It’s weird (?) no one mentions that he has South-Asian ancestry and that South-Asian people, men especially, typically are ranked somewhere at the very bottom of whom we consider to be attractive.

It’s weird, it has enough star power you’d think and must pull in the views or it wouldn’t be in its 5th season and yet it seems to get so little traction.

By next episode they should start referring to him as Seabiscuit.

*patiently waits for Molly Shannon to arrive at the island.*

There was a rather unexpected shark in the episode...

What bugged me is that as soon as they said he died from aids, you just knew the next line would be that he was gay. Now, they didn’t actually do that - his uncle (? did I get that right?) said he had sex with men so he could have been gay, or bisexual, or a number of sexual identities - just not straight.

“So we had African widows, French widows, Norwegian widows, Korean, Chinese, British”

When it comes to the AVclub/kinja you can pretty much be certain when something gets worse it was done on purpose. Been a lot of changes over the past few years and with every single one things just got a little worse - and none of them got fixed.

I believe that’s what I mean. I guess. It’s a mess...

Yeah, this is for everyone now and I am just about done with the AVclub.
What’s even worse, when someone is still in the greys (and does anyone know how you get out of the greys? It happened to me but don’t know how.) their comment, or part of it, is only visible in your notifications - you can’t find it on the page,

When it comes to modern values it is very much ‘inspired’ by the US.

The catholic roots that are in part of Europe (certainly not everywhere - there is a huge swath of Europe with protestant roots, and of course anglican in the UK) may have manifested itself again but it came through copycat behaviour seeing the voice

Nah. Europe has been so brilliant to copy more and more of US ethics, morals and general stupidity over the decades - sadly, much of the world still takes the US seriously and even continues to idolize it one way or another.

It’s rare I actually finish reading an article here - it’s indeed for the comments but now that they broke kinja once again (notifications no longer taking you to the actual comment and for whatever reason greyed-out replies are invisible and any comments and replies in large threads have become impossible to find -
