Trump has a golden opportunity here that no politician maybe ever has had. He can say almost anything and, no matter how crazy, he will exceed expectations,

Now you're getting it. The are not taking him literally when he says that. Trump is a canvas upon which they project their own policies. If they disagree, they just say, "Well, he doesn't really mean it." By taking him seriously, (1) read the article; and (2) his candidacy was not a joke to them. They want him to…
Everyone has underestimated Donald Trump from the second he started running. People still refer to him as an idiot, as if he almost single-handedly didn't just win the presidency for for himself by disregarding every conceivable political rule.
By not supporting TPP and other free trade agreements that decimate their livelihoods? By not acting incredibly condescending to their values?
Elizabeth Warren will absolutely be president in 2020.
That suit was suspiciously dropped right before the election.
You don't own my vote. If you wanted the Democrats in charge, choose someone worthy of the party next go around.
OK, let me dumb it down. His supporters take him very seriously, but they don't think his words matter. They ignore his specific words, including anything sexual related to women. They think the pussy grabbing, etc. is just figurative talk. They think everyone was lying about the assaults and in general choose not…
Are you the press or his supporter? If not, read the quote again and comprehend.
It's amazing how the people who win the electoral college love it, and the ones who lose it hate it.
You remember wrong. Obama and Bush II have social issues that differentiate them. They have almost no policy/economic issues. Obama is a lefty in the same way Clinton is. As in, not really at all.
The Klan wanted FDR too. The nation should not be governed by the Klan's whims.
"The press takes him literally, but not seriously; his supporters take him seriously, but not literally."
"The fucking right wing has a collective lack of anything remotely resembling a sense of humor."
Is Trump winning funny? If not, then stop acting like trying to be funny is anything by harmful.
The Daily Show and its ilk did more to hurt this election than anything else. Turning politics into entertainment, and entertainment into politics ("Hi Ghotbusters remake!") is neutering liberalism and its proponents. Take serious stuff seriously and non-serious stuff lightly.
I don't know that.
Your response proves my point exactly. Ask a person why they voted for Trump, they'll respond earnestly, whether it's an intelligent response or not. Ask a Democrat, and you get an attempt at comedy, and one that's only funny in an echo chamber like this one.
I don't, but I don't speak for everyone here. Yet.
Some of my family members, who had been Democrats their whole life, voted Trump. They're minority voters who switched over because they wanted real jobs to come back.
