I hated almost everyone but Amy Adams in American Hustle, especially Bradley Cooper.

There does seem to be a pattern where she’s pretty much the same character in every movie. Although I liked her in American Hustle, I have not been blown away by her in anything else.

Thread hijack alert. I'm a 38-year-old rancher and watched Brooklyn for the first time last night. Apparently, there were allergens in my man cave because my eyes were watering. Saoirse Ronan owned that role. Hope to see her name on this list one day.

Winter’s Bone was amazing and then all her choices were meh

She’s literally the same in every movie.

I will give this to her, though: because she can play herself well (a strong woman), The Hunger Games trilogy was pretty good because she was such a strong anchor.

I wouldn't call that an unpopular opinion. The backlash started a couple of years ago. It Girls are only allowed up on the pedestal for a limited time.

Agreed. I kind of love her personality, but as an actress she is incredibly flat and one note. And that note is meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh

Oh, I would totally get drunk with her. I just wouldn’t keep casting her in roles of 40-somethings or keep handing her gold statues.

The Rock has not won an Academy Award, tho.

I am so sick of her not being exactly what everyone wants her to be all the time. It’s like she isn’t even trying to take all of our criticism simultaneously. I liked her at first but then she was too likeable and now I hate her but she just keeps being Jennifer Lawrence and I am just like HELLO, HAVE YOU SEEN OUR

SHE’S FIIIINNNNEEE.

I agree. It’s a shame so many male directors are enamored with casting leading actresses who are in theirs 20s - they haven’t had enough time to perfect their acting skills. By the time most actresses have developed their craft, directors have moved on to the next ingenue.

I totally second that opinion. The gag is that (white) female actors like Lawrence (and Arquette & Co.) want everyone to speak about the wage gap but I have NEVER (literally NEVER) heard Lawrence discussing matters affecting marginalized populations in the film industry.

To put it all in perspective, The Rock is one of, if not the highest paid male actors.

Unpopular opinion: Jennifer Lawrence is unbelievably overrated.
