Homer is not a normal cat - he’s basically a total hero cat, and also his human has used his fame to help lots of other special needs kitties get adopted which is nice. It’s a good story :)

I definitely wouldn’t vote for him because of the showbiz angle, but it doesn’t diminish him in my eyes either. I like the way he has been going after the nominees in these hearings, also.

For whatever it’s worth, I’m not up in arms over the subject matter, I just know that I personally can’t watch it because I will ugly cry for the entire movie, and then be sad and overcuddle my dogs for a while after that.

My husky cries so sadly when I try to bathe her that I basically only get it done like 2x a year by someone else (because I am not strong enough to listen to her cry) - luckily she’s fastidious about grooming herself like a cat and never really gets that bad dog smell. I used to be able to handle them, like in college before I had pets of my own. Reading about a dog dying makes me think about my dogs dying and I can’t even begin to handle that, because obviously science is gonna catch up and my pets are going to live forever.
