I don’t get the PRAISE for this apology that I am seeing here, there and everywhere on social media. CK issued a good apology because he was already outed, after years of gaslighting the public about these “ridiculous!!!!” claims and maybe blacklisting a woman comedian who said they were true? Fuck all that noise.

So yeah guys, if you’re like, “I don’t know what I personally can do to help!”, the thing to do is to call out men, ESPECIALLY YOUR FRIENDS AND COWORKERS AND ACQUAINTANCES when they are creeps and abusers. Especially your friends and coworkers and acquaintances. Especially your friends and coworkers and acquaintances.

Raise your hand if you feel your mental health has been affected by Donald Trump personally?

Wasn’t there a similar scenario recently? It may have been at forever 21, not Zara but it was found to be false.

Your first instinct when you hear about abuse allegations is to think it’s a misunderstanding on the victim’s part. That instinct is a product of rape culture. Your later realization that it’s wrong is a necessary and conscious and good course correction. But that initial instinct to distrust the woman? Yeah, that’s

I don’t care if Kate Bush gets in the Hall of Fame or not, she is mine.

Didn’t anyone tell you? Feminism is a marketing tactic.

I agree. I lived in Austin for a couple of years in the mid-aughts (didn’t experience the film scene, though). There were plenty of things I disliked about Austin (haha), but the “progressive but not really” white dudes were awful. One of my theories was that they moved to Austin from places that were so conservative

But it’s all part of Keep Austin Weird right?

YUP. I lived in Austin in the late 90s and first half of the ‘aughts, and it is a town that prides itself on being weird and progressive and fun and diverse, but really it’s not any of those things. (And to be fair, I don’t know how many towns ARE those things) There is very much a culture there of the “nerd who grows

I agree. I like to quote my mother who used to say “show me a child who has a mother for a best friend and I’ll show you a bad mother.”

Cocaine doesn’t put ideas of child sex in your mind, though. King already had that idea, coke or not.

This is also a typical abuser world upside-down mindfuck bullshit. Somebody behaves so erratically horrible all the time that you start feeling grateful whenever they for once act like a normal human being. Don’t fall for it, Anybody Who Will Listen.

The expression “blood is thicker than water” originally meant that the bond between comrades is stronger than family, as in bathing in the blood of your enemies is a pretty powerful bonding experience, and it has been bastardized into meaning the exact opposite.

Unsolicited advice from someone who survived a very necessary estrangement from her own mother: beware of anyone who attempts to convince you that you should be able to look past this. I wish someone had told me 20 years ago that “blood is not thicker than safety.” Thank you and good luck.

You know, I don’t want her good name to be sullied by him saying it. He has no right to speak her name. He killed her. He murdered her. She was on the right side of this and he’s still on the wrong, and we all know it.

The result of some traumatic incident in childhood?

I look forward to the day when I’m not considered less-than simply because of the viscous gooey residue preventing my cap from fully closing.

I feel like the choices just get worse after they hit the iceberg. Why didn’t they just not sink? Salt water makes everything buoyant and for fuck’s sake, that’s a BOAT. What’s more buoyant than that? I feel like they weren’t even trying to get to America or wherever they were going.
