I agree, running for me is a mental sport that mostly involves trying to get my brain to shut up... but for me there is only a certain level of pain that I will tolerate, even if I know it’s not causing permanent damage, and I have surpassed that unfortunately. I feel you, I can barely walk barefoot! The pain is in the balls of my feet, so tennis shoes help a great deal, but I don’t see myself running through the pain anytime soon.
