If all the automakers were gone, I’d start by making brown, manual wagons. And I’d run them on a car-treadmill for at least 75,000 miles before they hit the showroom floor. Spilling some stuff in the cabin is a small upcharge.

“And today the President offered this word of encouragement in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic:”
Oh. I ache with longing for such simplicity. An unfussy engine (just two valves per cylinder!) paired with an unfussily exposed engine bay, decent power and an absolutely flingable chassis made for an undeniably economical, modest car that could nevertheless be a delight when you put your foot down.
You gotta really want the Golf baller lifestyle to pay $7K for it.
That’s a lot of money for something that’s almost old enough to run for President (Please do! We need a new one!)
Seriously. This event just goes to show how vulnerable we all are. Rich, poor, whatever doesn’t matter – coronavirus doesn’t care and will gladly infect any of us and kill as many as it can.
There’s 2 types of people when it comes to the Volt - people who own one and are near-evangelical (me) and everyone else that barely knows what they are.
To me, these are easily the ugliest Mustangs.
The Mustang II is somehow beautiful and monstrously horrid at the same time, and I kind of love that about it. What an odd transition from the massive 1971-73 vehicles to the 1979 fox body.
If you are looking for a reliable commuter car, this is one. Its pretty reasonably priced especially for the premium trim. Its a great price, but I personally like the looks of the 2nd gen better; that comes at a price. I paid about this much for my commuter car, is this better? Probably!I’d love to have a PHEV.
I’m not sure what gen Prius you drove, but if it was anything > 5 years old I’m not sure you were awake when driving it -- I’m biased, as a Volt owner, but most any review would have told you at the time the Volt was the nicer and better-performing driving experience.
What is this... commute... to work... that you speak of?
So far 129 people have voted, with about 67% saying “Nice Price”.
This shit right here is EXACTLY why I won’t buy a Tesla. I’ve come close to pulling the trigger on one three different times. Each time some new story pops-up beforehand where Musk puts his dangerous narcissism on full display.
Yeah, it ignores the fact that COVID-19 contributed to whatever the directly fatal illness(es) were.
That March 21 tweet is next level idiocy.
