This is extremely confusing to me as a Brit. Does this happen often in the US? I go out to eat quite a bit and it has maybe happened twice ever. If a starter arrived during the main I’d send it back - side dishes are a different story though. It is also unfathomable to me that I would order my main after finishing my

English ciders do not “tend to be dry”. Some might be, but the most popular and common varieties are sparkling.

I understand what you’re saying but I’m not sure this is true:

I’m based in the UK and a lot of people are talking about these abortion bans; there is a perception here that the US is becoming a Christian theocracy. The people currently in charge of my country are utter idiots but at some point diplomacy is going to start getting tricky, and I’d be surprised if other countries

You were the one who said ‘work’ were you not? Why use the word if that’s not what you meant? Perhaps you can use the word you mean next time.

What is ‘work’ here? If this is work, shouldn’t Meghan be entitled to nine months or so of maternity leave as our other mothers are? Also, do you not want to consider how much she has lost in earnings since giving up quite a successful acting career and moving to another continent? I am British and I must say I find

On behalf of the UK I apologise for Helen Lewis and, in fact, all the transphobes we seem to be exporting abroad these days. I have no bloody idea why it’s so bad here, I don’t know how we can fix this.

As someone three months off submitting a PhD who is also in possession of a chronic illness, I salute you! Glad you got through it - it’s tough without working 30 hours a week bartending.

I can’t tell if you know what this means and think it’s stupid or whether you just think the poster made this up so:

I started watching Ugly Delicious but about five minutes in I stopped watching as I hated the tone. It’s so bro-ey!

‘it was *technically* possible that her other injuries were caused by consensual sex that she was known to have enjoyed before’

Spoiler only related to your questions!

Battery. It’s harmful, non-consensual, intended contact. This harm does not have to be physical damage, i.e. cuts or bruises. There’s probably a case for assault in here, too - I would have been afraid of him if I were her.

Co-signed, the United Kingdom, watching in bafflement and horror.

Don’t just remember their names. Remember the name of every man who defends Kavanaugh, or rails against a ‘witch hunt’. Remember their names: and tell all the women you know to stay away from them.

Iceland absolutely is a country to visit more than once - it’s meant to be beautiful in the summer (with an abundance of puffins and whales!), but the colder seasons are not to be missed either. The Northern Lights truly are spectacular, and if you go at the right time you can also hike a glacier, which is by far one

My friend’s son saw some builders working near their house - it was a very hot day. One of the builders was working without a shirt on, and her son asked him if he was John Cena hahaha

If you can afford it, Copenhagen would be good. I went with my partner who was there for a conference - I had the day to myself and always felt safe wandering around. It would be a nice place to relax too, especially aroun Nyhavn, and you could take daytrips to Roskilde, and Malmo in Sweden.

That is not true. Are you lying or just unaware of the facts?

I think that crews200 was referring to Kathleen Kennedy, who is the subject of 30-Nothing’s post (and not Rose Tico).
