To be honest, you’ll see this everywhere as long a competitive element is included in First/Third-person shooters. Cheats, hacks, exploits - As long it gives them an edge or troll the enemy in a malicious way.

Other that you can trade those with friends and people in the group or sell them off in the market, which makes it much easier to get the necessary parts.

They are more like those vending machines which got these mini prizes in a capsule and you get to throw in a dime or so to get a try on it.
