Unless someone in the band confirms this, I refuse to believe it :) So far, there's been no official announcement from the band, only some comments from Sharon Osbourne, who a) is not the most trustworthy source and b) has little to no say in the future of the band.
The live version of XYU that will be included in this set is all kinds of awesome :) And I love the slow-build, call-and-response thing they did for Bullet on that tour.
Say what you like about the merits of multiple demo versions, I think it's unfair to say that the live tracks are indistinguishable. One of the great things about the Pumpkins in their heydey was that the would completely reinterpret their catalogue when playing live. I have playlists of all of their albums culled…
