That’s the only way to make sense of it that I can see. It’s a form of particularly creepy bullying/aggression. The getting away with doing something horrible is a key part of it. It also feels like a behaviour that could easily escalate.

An awful lot of small to medium companies that make things (especially custom things) have some of these issues even outside the nerd field, but it goes without saying that that doesn’t make those issues not important (I know you’re not implying that, just for clarity’s sake), especially not when a company is trading

I don’t know if that would be obvious to all English speakers, because a book of plays is also a set of instructions, but it conveys something very different, and less direct. I went to a school with a lot of people who were still learning English, and I remember it was quite surprising at what they guessed words

You’ll be fine. I know I was. The plot isn’t super-important (as with most Souls games) and it plays really well, it’s in that upper tier of Soulslike which are actually good games in their own right. I often get tempted to reinstall it - in fact I might do that shortly - it’s a lot smaller than I remember if Steam is

Playbook is interesting, but it’s a fairly hardcore Americanism that most English-speakers won’t necessarily understand, so it’s not much of an improvement outside the US. I think “methods” would be more generally understood.

Yeah they say it’s often been depicted with a toothy smile, but frankly, T-Rex has also often been depicted with lips, and that always seemed more plausible.

Hmmm. Maybe, it seems a little childish and floppy for that - I know that at that age, I really didn’t appreciate stuff like this, but rather wanted harder takes. I suspect if anything it’s aimed at people a bit younger than that.

Ugh, disappointing. The tech in the 32nd century has become way too close to magic, and god the uniforms and general visual design a terrible. Don’t get me wrong, I like Tilly, but that’s very unfortunately - though I agree the line does more or less confirm that.

No, it’s going about the right distance. Or do you want to have some kind kind of competition where only the most-worthy people get considered victims.

What I’m talking about is that D4 (like D3 but more extremely) has a ton of effects which don’t just mindlessly buff a skill by +1 or whatever, but actually make it do different, additional things. In some cases turning bad or barely-usable skills into powerful ones. And whilst I think that’s okay with true Uniques,

QAnon is dead/dying. Has been for a couple of years.

Ooof but yeah that is a fair comment.

I mean, it’s a valid concern. I think you’d need a showrunner with an actual vision, and a real love for the original - definitely not one of those showrunners who never or barely watched the original and just wants to use the name for their own different but somehow less original thing.

Yeah Fringe is a good mention, because Fringe did a lot of stuff which fits with a more updated/modern X-Files vibe, but it was more tightly focused on hypertech and alternate realities (both of which should probably feature in an updated X-Files, just not exclusively). But yeah I like your description - I’d add in

Yeah I didn’t want to be indelicate there - but I think make-up can probably de-age them sufficiently.

I don’t think you’ve ever actually like ... drank-drank.”

Thank for the additional information re: the timeline. The article - and your posts, and those of others, all gave the impression this was already signed and ready to go for 2026. But the detail you’ve provided is very helpful and shows that is not at all the case.

The voice actors from Lower Decks will play “themselves” in the live action sequences.”

So I kind of disagree re: boring choice, if Coogler does a forreal-forreal reboot, like he genuinely updates it to the modern-day of UFOs and conspiracies and bizarre monsters from creepypastas and so on. The original X-Files was very much informed by the 50s through 90s versions of those, but things have moved on.

Yeah I feel similarly. I doubt it’ll run long but at least with Coogler it might be artistically interesting.
