One of the first autonomous robot tests back in the day that was done in a university test lab (I forget which one) had a similar issue with many robots suffering from “decapitation” by tables due to a lack of upward-looking sensors. The winning robot used a combination of ultrasonic sensors that looked forward and at

There are lots of big guys living today who feel they missed out on the “good old days” like that. Putin wants to be a czar, Musk wants to be a business tycoon. Some people let their fantasies grow up with them, instead of giving up on the dreams they had as kids.

My instructor did the same when I learned to drive and it is one of the best driving (well, parking) habits I’ve ever learned.

I am surprised that people don’t use the park brake when PARKING a car. It was taught to me in drivers ed. Heck, I’ve religiously used the park brake even before I got a manual transmission car.

People complain about our overly safety-conscious culture, but the truth is, nobody ever practices basic safety in everyday

Marketing can totally use that though. “It takes X extra pounds of weight and a boost reduction by Y psi for a Porsche to keep up with us!”

But the reason we even have a new Ford GT40 is because it dominated the field that hard in the 60's. A company being able to build a superior car is exciting.

For example, I love watching modded GT-R’s eat Lamborghinis on the crazy drag strips in Texas. I know they are producing about 500hp over a stock Lambo, but it

It’s their first foray into the 3/4 ton market. Give them time. On the fast lane truck, they also complained that the 5L Cummins has no engine brake for downhill towing.

On the other hand, they must have some of the most well behaved kids out there if they are so quiet in the rear seat as to be forgotten. I’ve ridden with my child-having friends in their cars and kids are...well, they make their presense known.

It shouldn’t even be called that now. It’s a throttle pedal on a petrol engine car. It controls how much air the engine gets, not fuel. It’s only a “gas” pedal on a diesel engine car, where it actually does control the amount of fuel going to the cylinders.

    Now playing

Or remember the Megahertz Myth that Apple pushed back in the day when they used a CPU that competed with Intel? Only a couple years after that, Apple switched to Intel processors.

Maybe it’s a “big foot problems” kind of thing but I had the hardest time trying to do it on my Miata in autocorss. I decided to just switch up and “go against the grain” by toe-heeling and it worked much better.

With the Z taking on the Cayman and the GT-R the 911 Turbo, maybe some sort of an AWD V6TT Altima to challenge the Panamara for us high-power sedan enthusiasts?

In the end, Tesla will just be playing into the hands of the other companies by shouldering the burden of building the network. It is much cheaper to adapt other’s technology to their use. Look at computers that all use HDMI despite the fact that Sony owns the patent to the port. You don’t see anyone bothering to make

I really wish we could get those here in the states

Why not get a Shelby GT350? It will perform like an exotic, it looks and sounds amazing, and I bet they’ll make fewer of them per year than 458's or Huracans. Unless by “exotic” it has to mean European and horribly unreliable and expensive to fix.
