“Loosing” says Jethro .

Imma guess this is standard operating procedure for all Popeyes because you described the one nearest to me up here in Indiana perfectly.

It’s a society that’s economically and socially constructed around the ideal that if you have the money, you should be able to get what you want, when you want it, as soon as humanly possible.

WTF is wrong with Americans ???

Exactly.

12 year olds on a motorcycle, on the road with cars? You aren’t serious here, are you?

There is no way in hell they actually want to take his cat away. Seriously, he’s just trying to say anything to incite the morons who believe his crap.

I laughed entirely too hard at this comment...

Can you imagine if early cars had fake “clopidy-clop clop-clopidy-clop” sounds to make fake horsey sounds? Whatever comforts people who are terrified of change, I guess.

Nope, not dealing with space dinosaurs.

I find the “what about local businesses” stuff is generally right on par with “what about the children” in terms of how often it’s used disingenuously.

You know what would really help those Google employees? A union.

While I understand the logic of hotdesking, the reality is that some will be paired with incompatible deskmates. The minutes spent every morning ‘correcting’ the layout and possibly cleaning up after your deskmate is lost productivity.

Verizon put most their people on WFH years ago and sold the huge Ashburn (VA) complex a few years ago. No one can penny-pinch better than Verizon, at least while they have their cash-cow in phones.

How delightfully archaic. I’ve been working remote for six years and they’ve been the best, most productive years of my career.

All those hospitality jobs disappeared back in 2020 anyway. They weren’t coming back, and we were told that we were living in a new normal. If these business owners didn’t want to listen to the experts that’s on them. They had 2 years and multiple stimulus packages to help them find new jobs, but instead they chose to

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that Google’s C-suite employees will not be participating in desk sharing.

Know what the only thing worse than an open-plan office is? Fucking hotdesking. Surely staff are entitled to the respect of having their own workspace if they have to be in for “engagement” or “collaboration” or whatever buzzword du jour C-Suite dickheads spaffed out today.

We cut office space to save money but we still want you to come into the office even through there’s no place for you to sit.  Brilliant.

So much work just to force people back into the fucking office. What a waste.
