I played this game in the open beta, and had two major takeaways:

These are still only a small selection of Sony’s catalog, releasing many years after hitting consoles (and after the console they released on already had a successor).

...yes, and the “labor” necessary to make an existing game, using technology from a decade ago, is less than making a new game that has to account for the limitations of the console it is designed for.

I’m honestly surprised. While PSVR is getting a decent amount of support, I assumed that it would inevitably go the way of the Vita and get completely forgotten about until you wind up playing a late-gen PS5 game where you murder someone playing with it.

All three of these games are or at least were able to be downloaded free from Battle.net, IIRC.

You could never swing your sword and aim at the same time, so that will likely be mapped to the R stick just fine.

And the technology necessary to power and produce an existing Wii game, even one in HD, is less expensive than it was ten years ago.

After playing every AC game except this one, I’m honestly shocked that half of these items aren’t in the game already. Colleting Nintendo-themed items was one of the highlights of AC for me.

From screenshots, it looks like R and ZR are already being used for items, and ZL is almost certainly being used for targeting, so I don’t think that leaves much room left for a trigger. Unless the game just doesn’t let you swing the sword in handheld mode unless you’re targeting something.

There was also a DC Superhero girls game which...exists. And is apparently published by Nintendo themselves, meaning that between this and Marvel Ultimate Allicance 3, the big N has published games for both of the Big Two superhero comic publishers.

As apparently the one guy in this world who really liked Skyward Sword, I’m happy to have a modern port of this with button controls.

Honestly they should have made it like Mario Galaxy and had Jr be controlled with a cursor. Have him paint things to freeze them or something.

The Bowser Amiibo was pretty OP in Odyssey too. It was, to my knowledge, the only way to narrow down the location of purple coins, of which there were only 100 in each of the game’s massive worlds. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to get them all without it.

I take back my other comment. I don’t care about Zelda, or Ace Attorney, or anything else.

I’m just hoping for some Zelda news, and those Great Ace Attorney games.

Luigi’s Mansion 3, not 2, and...wow, now that I see all of those games in one single list, I finally realize just how few of those games actually appealed to me. You’re right, it’s a wide net, but it somehow missed me.

From the phrasing in this article, it looks that Aqua spinoff will be able to be purchased separately. Is that the case?

Ouya, a kickstarter-funded android-based console that is basically this tweet turned into a game console:

It was the other way around. The game used footage from the movie as cutscenes.

All of these games were supposed to come to Game Pass PC two months ago. The main reason why I’m not getting these deals is because I feel that they’re going to arrive there the second I give up and spend money on the 5 EA games that I’m actually interested in.
