I was wondering the same thing, why wouldn't the goal count even if it came off the moorings first? It was past the goalie, going in and a defensive player took the goal off without being checked into it by an opponent.

They keep changing the rules for play around the net, but I thought that if the defensive team knocks the goal off the moorings then the referee can still award the goal based on where the net “should be.” Is that wrong?
