My entire point was: an Alexa is a completely pointless, vanity device. Can’t really say the same for a smart phone.

I’ve never, ever understood the purpose of it, either; it’s such a dorky, pointless nuisance. One of my roommates has one — I can’t tell you how much I hate knowing there’s one of those creepy, invasive devices in the same building I live in, just down the hall — and literally all he ever does with it is speak random…
It’s been years since I read Kondo’s book, and I have no intention of watching the show; I was merely replying to the author of this post, who suggests — both by the title, and the closing paragraph — to literally throw books away, which... Yeah, hell no.
It’s been years now since I attended Comic Con (I’m originally from San Diego, so it used to be an easy thing to do, on several levels), let alone since Chuck was still on the air, but I distinctly recall, during the very early morning line up for Chuck’s goodbye panel — which I was there to photograph with a press…
Gah! The most tempting trap...
That is also super cute!! I got the “activation noise” a couple years back from a Vine somebody compiled of waking their own cat up from naps several times and making it. The cutest noise!
You would be most welcome! He is determined to charm everyone he meets.
The Eve Babitz bio I was alluding to up there? Definitely do, especially if you’re a fan of her work! It’s quite illuminating, about her and her work, since the two are perpetually entwined.
Thank you, on both points!
Ha! I think I know the exact cafe you mean (though I’m not a New Yorker, I just know that movie better than I probably should...). I met Tucci briefly when my former shop did an event with him for his cookbook some years back, and he was just lovely.
That’s very cool!
It does! Very good detective work! (It wouldn’t hurt to drop the book title directly, but something kept me from doing it, I’m not even sure why, lol. Didn’t want to brag or anything, I’m just excited! Also, her subject is one of my all-time favorite writers, particularly about LA.)
Thank you! Stella had a bit of a potential health scare last fall, so I’m really glad she’s doing well, too. (We adopted her from someone who abandoned her, so we really have no idea how old she is, but definitely older than 10 by now...)
Ha! I had a feeling it was too inviting to be believed...
Gee, I don’t know, Cyril. Maybe deep down I’m afraid of any apex predator that lived through the K-T extinction!?
Want to smoosh Pete’s belly!
Starred immediately for the link alone.
Still haven’t gotten quite everything I had in mind for this month done yet; still feeling fine about it (progress!). Plus, the month is only just past half over, so, arbitrary goal or not, no reason to stress about it.
Thank you!
Yeah. Plus, for me — though this is one of the best attempts I’ve seen — it’s always the skin that just never looks quite real. It always has that slight flat/rubbery-looking quality to it. The only one of these shots that doesn’t suffer from that problem is the “selfie,” and that’s because it’s so blown out by the…
