It varies, library to library. I was suggesting the author not be lazy as hell and actually look into other options before tossing them. Some accept donations (typically for sales), some don’t. It takes like, 5 minutes to call and find out.

Meanwhile, I am really not looking forward to figuring out -- and for the first time -- how dealing with filing for a 50% LLC business partnership is about to affect my taxes...

To each their own. I tried an e-reader earlier on, and found I have very little memory of anything I tried to read on it. Apart from seriously disliking the overall feel of the experience -- versus reading a physical book -- there is a lot of research just coming out to back this up; what we take in on screens we have

Otherwise, throw that shit to the curb, buy a Kindle, regret nothing.

As a bookseller of 10+ years: thank you.

Um, moved my book collection four separate times? Packing and moving books is not all that different from moving kitchenware or furniture.

Rich people are habitually the stingiest about everything. It would be funny, if it weren’t horrendous.

From what I’ve heard around town, Cruise has been an advocate for bringing potentially as many of the previously introduced badass ladies as possible — he initially hoped to have Patton and Maggie Q both back for Part 5, but scheduling conflicts didn’t allow for it, which is a shame, ‘cause that would’ve been awesome.

She bothers me because, once this all took off, she started a line of branded storage boxes. That literally goes against her own philosophy in the book that started this whole thing.

I work in a secondhand book and record shop, so... same.

HECK YES NECTARINES

That’s the problem with a piece of writing going viral like this; a lot of people don’t carry over the genre or context as it gets away from them, and for many people there’s a lot of confusion about what genres are what. (I tend to forget this, having been in the book business for so long, until customers who aren’t

I won’t read this one online — I just started in on my advance copy of her new collection (which I believe is out on Tuesday) earlier today, and I’ll get to it in print soon — but I will say that the ones I have read so far in it are very strong. I’m really digging it so far.

It’s such a nuanced and confusing subject to approach, even for ourselves, which I’m sure is a big part of why most of the conversation around the issue — so far, and likely to come — has been rather messy.

Was wondering the same thing. I’ve been using Out of Milk for ages, and it already does (and has always done, as far as I know) all of the above.

Sure! I’m honestly amazed at how much seeing my acupuncturist has helped; I’ve been dealing with/walking differently to accommodate pain from a torn muscle from half my lifetime ago. I’ve never actually had any acupuncture done myself (though the guy I see does offer it), but I have had blood cupping done, and as

Would love to see CA follow their lead on this one.

I’m with you on this in this thread, for sure. I mean, the FBI was on his ass for two solid decades, doggedly, and found nothing. That DA really wanted him for anything he could get him on, too. (I covered the trial back in ‘05, during my criminology major years.)

Unrelated to crusty old dudes and their gross shit, but: acupressure has done wonders for the pain issues I do have!
