Ha! Any time someone (instead of the forever tiresome Rigby or even Roosevelt comments) references Eleanor of Aquitaine, they always immediately win points with me, because she was a badass.

I always forget about her! I think mostly because I was never a fan of the Chipmunks, even when I was a kid.
I get it sung at me pretty often, even now (and I’m in my 30s). It’s extremely annoying, and always has been.
True! I love Franz Ferdinand, so I’ve always enjoyed that one, too, though no one ever mentions it to me when discussing name songs (until now!).
Have not torrent’d in ages, but may have to at this point!
Nope. The system in place is specifically designed NOT to have effective methods of statistic logging or any checks or balances of any kind.
it doesn’t actually do anything.
Would that I had more than one star to give.
I’m glad, too! I mostly found it funny (though very annoying) back then, because at the time, she was a complete nobody, so I don’t know where the attitude came from. (And I was a fan of VM!)
Thank you for the tip! I will definitely try this.
I used to work, for a brief time, in a very stupidly named high end shoe store. Some of the shit I sold back then was truly, deeply horrendous.
I only mean “better,” I think, more in terms of “songs I’m not sick to death of hearing,” you know? Also, it actually puts me in a good mood, which the Beatles song, no matter how well written, can never do.
Haha! Great reference, I love Shirley Jacksons books (not particularly interested in watching the new Hill House show, though). That said, yeah, that particular character is another rather sad one...
I keep meaning to watch The Good Place, in part because of her name! Also, I tend to love Mike Schur’s shows.
My roommate and I were recently passing a bit of time walking through a Nordstrom on the west side of LA, and he was like, “Let’s play a game I call How Much Is This Shoe?”
I love it.
I said it elsewhere, but JFC, I’m more glad than ever to have avoided reading his stuff all this time. Gross.
I was surprised this went totally unmentioned, too! It’s horribly written, and horrifying! Something for everyone!
Meanwhile, the Beatles recorded one of the most depressing songs ever using my name, which, while a perfectly fine song, I would be absolutely fine with never, ever having to hear again!
This really made me laugh, thank you.
