I’m so sorry for your loss. I do imagine that would make it extra emotional as a viewing experience, for sure, so maybe save it for when you feel you’re in the right frame of mind... But really, both times I saw it, by the end it was just a communal theater full of crying people, so that’s maybe unavoidable either

Much love for Judy, always. I think, to this day, my favorite unfortunately-little-known-but-excellent thing she’s been great in was The TV Set.

I only ever had my first one on my first visit to NY this spring! (It definitely was of the sort that doesn’t appear to have actual egg in it, though. My host popped in to a bodega he’s been getting them from since he was a kid and got us one.) It was really good! Not like anything else I’ve ever had, but good.

I’m proud of you. I’m laying a hex on them right now.

I’m continually disappointed whenever I go out somewhere and get a burger, because apparently it’s on-trend now for no one to season beef, which is insane and deeply stupid. (And pretty pointless? Like, we get it, Umami Burger, you shove a ton of other shit in there and hope that carries it, then charge $12 for it,

Eh, knowing this world, I’m sure they’re all doing fine.

Rocky is like this random movie nobody really cares about but somehow everyone in Philly cares about.

So sorry you didn’t get to share him live with her. I was only lucky enough to see him once -- out on the Santa Monica pier, with my Dad -- but he was just phenomenal.

I have yet to read Consumed, actually! I keep meaning to — he signed a copy to me that same day I met him — but I have roughly a billion To Be Read books in my place (hazard of the trade), haha, and it’s sort of fallen by the wayside. I do like to read only horror during October though, and maybe I’ll pair that with

I know! The one time I met her, about 10 years ago now, she smiled that big, beautiful smile at me, and it about floored me. She is stunning, but those eyes and the smile are the knockout combo.

I’ve had a copy of this at home waiting for a couple weeks, but this reminded me I really need to make it my next read.

I swear there was an old school CSI episode about this very thing, I think set during a group poker match. That, or it was a potential cause, but wasn’t the actual cause of death... I dunno, it’s been ages.

There are shades of gray to this, though.

Exactly.

This is such a great joke.

This comment is fantastic, that’s all I wanted to say.

God, how terrible. A friend of a friend works in a library here, and I can’t imagine how she’d react if the place burned down. (And hers is a privately-owned and run library, containing plenty of amazing collections, but still nowhere near the size of this one. I can’t even imagine.)

God, this show is so good. (God, I love Kim so much.)

I don’t think the photo came through, at least not on my end, but I am so, so sorry about your loss. :( It’s like losing a family member, and in such a sudden way that’s even harder. Good thoughts to you, and hugs.

Haha, I’m happy to share! I just wish he came around my current bookshop as much as my former. But, as an indie publisher myself now, I love knowing that he’s ventured into that field himself. Long live books, and Keanu!
