I love this, and also all the other photo- and meme-heavy comments to this post. Snakes are so great.

I had the same thought. All that, plus probably just a combination of exhaustion and relief that comes when you’re just tired and some long leg of something is finally over. That can be a pretty peaceful/serene feeling, regardless the surrounding circumstances.
In my experience over the past couple of years, they absolutely do NOT (and most of my female friends using them have had no luck, either, so it’s not just me). Personally, in fact, no matter which apps I’ve tried, and no matter what attitude or expectation I’ve approached them with, they have produced such…
Thank you for your brave service.
God bless us, every one, but especially Rihanna.
It took me a full month to finish A Little Life (despite loving it overall) for the same reason, a couple years back. It’s just brutal.
Yes! Also, I think the most powerful full audience reaction in my theater was definitely the scene at the end, when the cop car rolls up, and there’s that recognition of “Oh shit, he’s screwed, he’s dead,” and then you almost immediately feel everyone realize: “Imagine living a life where cops showing up means you’re…
I’m so glad I got to catch Get Out in theaters during opening week, before too much word had gotten out about what exactly it was about, because noticing a lot of (particularly older, often female) white audience members start to get really uncomfortable in the theater was amazing. I just remember thinking, “GOOD. Sit…
I very rarely splurge on any makeup other than my usual staples, just because I usually can’t afford to, but recently I had a bit of extra cash and decided to have some fun with one of the new Fenty highlight duos and the lip gloss. Loving both so far, even if no one notices but me!
I just have to say that this is a very odd, yet depressingly prescient, time to be reading Carl Sagan’s (wonderful) The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark. It’s over 20 years old, but it basically outright predicts where we’ve ended up, and largely cites complete lack of science and critical thought…
The roughly 3 months I spent on OKC last year were some of the most emotionally damaging I’ve ever experienced, largely because of this. Ugh. Never again. (It was a total waste of time, besides.)
Oh man, YES, just... to this entire comment.
As a 6' tall girl (who was this height in high school, and stuck out like a sore thumb even among 4,000 other students), I feel and understand her on this.
And earrings! Or contact lenses!
Oh, it’s more that I and my reasonably aged female coworkers at the time observed him being a humongous creep around young ones, at an event we organized. And he used to come into my place of work at the time and be simultaneously creepy and a huge prick, I always dreaded seeing him. But yeah, keep him away from young…
I will also be rewatching Apollo 13 for an additional, unthinkable, number of times.
I got a new phone less than 5 days ago, and overnight, while I was sleeping — so, while literally nothing was happening to it — it apparently bricked itself. Good thing my internal clock is pretty on the mark, or I would’ve been late to work, since it is still (now, at 5:38PM) frozen at 6:24AM and completely…
This was also the year I interviewed Janet Jackson.
He’s not just a pretentious asshole (though he absolutely is that), he’s also a tremendous creep, particularly around young girls.
D’aww, what a cutie! My godmother had one growing up, named Pongo. I loved that big yutz.
