Again, saying “the story about slavery that they wrote would be disastrous if they included people of color” is more an indictment of the work than a reasonable defense of it.

I’m both excited about this show but also very scared it’s gonna get shitcanned within a month

It was really interesting how Suletta and Miorine BOTH managed to bring the conflict to a resolution through a non-violent action, too. Miorine dissolves the company and sells it to groups on Earth so that the SLA has no entity to target anymore and Suletta just.. DELETES all the machines in a way that’s a little bit

Sure, but not on this level. (I attended Otakon a few times when it was in Baltimore, too.) And the reason they moved to DC was because the BCC didn’t have the capacity they wanted. They wanted more and BCC said they couldn’t accommodate. Otakon had a lot of people packed into hallways and stuff, sure- still COVID

The convention center itself should put a cap on it. That’s why Otakon moved - they wanted more attendance and Baltimore didn’t have the capacity.

Sure, but nobody is forcing you to buy a Blu Ray of Crater.  But if someone DID want that, it’s not an option anymore because the public has decided streaming everything is the way to go.  So now anybody who wants to watch Crater or anything else is at the mercy of whoever owns the streaming rights to it who can,

And one of the things we learned is that you can massively reduce the spread of airborne diseases by reducing crowd density and wearing masks when indoors, but we’ve decided just to ignore those things since they’re slight inconveniences.

Everyone seems to be saying “after Covid” a lot in this article. It’s not over, friends are still getting zapped by it, ending in the Hospital. This has super-spreader all over it.

I’ve heard this argument a lot, but I don’t get it. I’ve never found it necessary to believe that a major character could die in order to enjoy a TV show or movie. Also, it’s not unheard of in the MCU. Spider-Man: FFH went into production was announced before Endgame hit theaters, so we all knew Spider-Man (and, by

Well I see this as a good thing. If they weren’t concerned about continuity, then there should be absolutely no reason why some Agents of Shield characters can’t make an appearance.

i mean it sounds corny on its face but the kind of people he’s talking about get hulk-out mad if you suggest any part of popular culture isn’t for them, so like, i’ll applaud it

Last week had M’Benga with Ortegas, this week with La’an. I’m happy they get to have him play off all the characters, Babs Olusanmokun has great timing with everyone he’s on-screen with.

M’Benga’s scenes with his daughter (young and older) at the end of Elysian Kingdom is some of my favorite acting on the show.

When La’an walked onto the bridge at the end wearing the motorcycle jacket and Pelia was there, I thought for sure it was going to be a Days of Future Past moment when Pelia was like - hey! you just go back!

This episode was so much better than it had any right to be. When I saw that it was a time travel episode and an episode that featured Kirk it felt like they were reaching for stunt plots that are normally reserved for the end of a show’s run when they need to goose ratings and don’t have anything left in the bag.

The Romulan agent lampshading this was pretty hilarious. “Goddammit, I thought I took care of this 30 fucking years ago but nooooo, the timeline just keeps kicking the can down the road!”

Have you played The World Ends With You? That’s where Level i Flare comes from. A math nerd villain recites over a hundred digits of pi to cast it as his finishing move.

Zettaflare aint got nothing on Mathmagic

I was just at Costco yesterday and always use self-checkout. As soon as I walked up, the nearby employee promptly asked to see my card before I could even start scanning. First time ever.
