Pointed out above, but worth repeating, if a mask gets wet, it’s no longer effective. This is probably why it wasn’t on when she was getting her hair washed.

She’s coming from the sink and probably had it off so it wouldn’t get wet, rendering it ineffective. Since there’s no footage shown of her after that, it’s possible she put it on upon returning to the chair.
