I'm really not ignoring anything from Elegy, man. Though I am interested in hearing what these "deeper themes" and "nuanced character interactions" supposedly are.
Please, and I say this with no sarcasm, do tell.

"She learns to work without others across a series of guest appearances without sacrificing her own mission for Bruce's. Kate's approach to crime fighting, hell her entire world view is shown to be distinct from Bruce's from the onset. Hell Rucka and Williams use an extended flashback sequence to spell that out."
"…so taking a character that was intended to stand-alone and making her Batman's lieutenant undermines what made the character good in the first place."
"A formerly independent character with her own network of supporting
characters has been rendered just another Bat-Family member with a
Pennyworth to boot."
Really excited for this. A lot hinges on it, to give context to the previous four issues, which have all been pretty good.
I don't know how you get the idea that she's a subordinate to Bruce.
That's kind of an odd thing to hear, since she's had a high level of consistency and development starting in Elegy and continuing until now (minus Andreyko).
