I had something like this happen to me here, in beautiful BC (Canada) and it went like this:

Jason, I haven’t even read the article yet. I saw the headline, scanned the body and had to come racing down here to tell you something super important.

Um yeah, it’s called “Mustang ownership” and it comes with the sticker.

As an admitted, self-loathing Mustang man I don’t even get upset any more. I’m like a fully battered spouse; I’ve given up hope that there’s any hope.

I don’t think it needs to be a subject of gun violence, gun control or the larger gun debate at all. In fact, I don’t think it should be explained beyond, “Because it is.”
