Wes and Laurel are the best. I definitely enjoy all of the Keating 5 relationships on the show. Their interactions are really entertaining.

I like how the affair lurks in every storyline, even storylines that don't directly relate to it. Raises an interesting question about how we remember things.

I don't remember that, but I could see that. Schmidt talks a lot about Cece's boobs

Yup! In the episode "Fancy Man Part 2"! It's one of my favorite episodes, so I watch it a lot.

I liked that they remembered the "Harold and Kumar" bit from the first season. Made it kind of poignant, in the weirdest way.

This was one of those episodes where I didn't expect to see any nuance, but as you said Erik, New Girl is surprisingly good with developing characters through the silly. I liked how far Nick went with his "role", showing that he still cares for Jess and probably still has feelings for her. And Schmidt's comment about

That's what I was thinking originally, and I think that is still very much possible. But the reveal of Scotty's death makes me wonder.

Didn't like it as much as last week's, but still intriguing. I like where this is headed. We can see things coming to a head while still maintaining realistic pacing. A few musings:

I actually thought this episode was really funny and sweet. It may have been my favorite so far!

Well the r-word implicitly indicates that whoever that slur is directed towards is less worthy than others. That they've "stopped" in their development. Instead of celebrating that their mind works differently, calling them retarded makes the person feel inferior to others. I've worked with kids with special needs a

It is still an offensive word. You're not some hero for using it.

This season has been great so far, very funny. I honestly didn't think any of last season's episodes were bad, I enjoyed them all a lot. But as a season, the third season didn't work just because Nick-Jess storylines got repetitive and the rest of the cast didn't get much to do. While I didn't think Nick-Jess were the

I agree! I've gotten used to the theme song!

Best line of the night.

A WINSTON AND JESS SCENE? WITH AN EMOTIONAL UNDERCURRENT? Hallelujah!

Well, I would hope with any kind of quantification, porn would be excluded. At least, that's what I would do if I was evaluating gender representation in cinema today.

Well, I guess I feel that the Bechdel test isn't really measuring anything, which kind of brings me back to my first point and the data it provides doesn't mean anything either. You can't just isolate those three qualifications from the context of each individual movie's story. But again, that's just my thoughts.

Thanks for engaging with me in this conversation. For some reason, the Bechdel Test brings out the maniac internet commenter within me.

Thanks for replying!
