I am surprised they are going to try it in summer, mainly because it is a new budget year for many of these companies which means there will be now 2 expensive trips to GDC in the same year. Right now I am going to have to beg to get this re-authorized once there is a date.
2% is still pretty bad. That is 1 in 50.
Though here’s where age discrimination in the game industry works in its favor - GDC skews very young, so there aren’t a lot of people in the most at-risk groups to be found there. (Of course, they can still pick up the virus and carry it home to friends and family who won’t be so lucky...)

As long as he doesn’t fly himself there, he should be fine.
he’s like 40 now though
