News flash: media outlets traditionally have been “partisan muck rakers”! That is, in fact, where the term originated. So much so that, when television started to become a big thing, Congress passed the “fairness doctrine” requiring holders of broadcast licenses to actually be “fair and balanced.” Newspapers were more

Honestly this pandemic has me sleeping more than ever before. Prior, I was a night owl, rarely in bed before midnight during the week and getting 6ish hours a night of sleep, usually up until at least 2 on the weekends. Now? I’m ready for bed at 10:30, hardly ever up past 11, and I’m getting a solid 7-8 hours.

And the other great technology, on-demand. I get to watch a movie NOW, not two hours from now maybe if there are any tickets left.

Oh, I think the bars will be packed the moment they are allowed to be. A lot of pent-up energy is going to override common sense.

I daydream about something utterly mundane, like grocery shopping or getting a haircut, trying to envision as many specific details as possible. I usually only get down an aisle or two before I drift away.

My auto lender last month was practically urging me to take a deferment. “Are you SURE you aren’t experiencing any negative effects from COVID?”

I wonder if poor people have ever tried being...less poor? It really helps you avoid financial jams.

You are not. I don’t eat crunchy bacon.

I had a 1985 Grand Prix that I drove for several years before offloading it and its non-opening passenger door and failing compression for a few hundred bucks. My brother had a 1987 Bonneville that got totaled in an accident with a semitrailer only months after he acquired it...he promptly converted the insurance

Our next door neighbor growing up owned a Chevy dealership. He always drove a shiny new Corvette.

For all of my greeting card needs, I now buy blank cards and write a personal note. It’s at least slightly more sincere than Hallmark’s treacle, and much more appreciated.

I’ve also seen some restaurants that are decent at taking orders online...but don’t have a tip line when it comes to checkout/paying by credit card. You’re relying on me to have cash (which I usually don’t).

I think he’s just mad that he can’t play golf.

I am planning on buying a (used) car in the next few weeks, assuming the dealerships in my area are still allowed to be open. I’m sort of relishing the opportunity to hold all of the leverage for once.

Please no. I’m looking to buy a clunker in the next 30-45 days, at which point I would guess that some used car dealers will be willing to make some sweetheart deals.

My older daughter was *enraged* by the kiss and how utterly unearned and out of place it was

AT-TIC-CA! AT-TIC-CA!

This episode turned the Doctor into a gutless punk. Activating the death particle was apparently what “had to be done” but the Doc was too chickenshit to do the deed herself. And it’s a shame, because 3/4 of the episode was really good.

Yes?
