At least seven of Mania’s levels are reimaginings of zones from the previous games. They sometimes keep familiar set pieces, like Chemical Plant Zone’s infamous underwater block segment, but otherwise they’ll add new enemies and paths. That’s just for the first part of the zone.
I had no difficulty completing Sonic Mania. This is not my first rodeo. I grew up with a Genesis because I wanted to one up my NES-owning friend down the street.
