This is what I think, but the fact they used “mutual understanding” makes me think they’re looking for a way to weasel out of it. And if it truly is mutual (it’s not unheard of for publisher and developer to have different ideas about the direction the game should go), maybe that makes sense? But it still leaves a bad

Take-Two stabs People Can Fly in the back with Project Dagger

I know getting funding for AAA projects is a beast and sometimes you’ve gotta take what you can get, but god almighty I don’t know why any 3rd party developer would work with Take Two or Square Enix at this point. Both of those companies have demonstrated pretty clearly that they only care about their own golden

Guy saw ActiBlizz get bought for billions after massive PR disasters and said, “gotta step up my game”

Oh my god I thought that video was satire. Is Dunkey really congratulating himself for discovering Celeste and Cuphead? I like the guy but this is going to crash and burn so hard...

Meanwhile the actual Babylon took nearly three thousand years to fall, quite a bit longer than this game’s collapse and along with it a substantial amount of PlatinumGames’ reputation.

It is clear that there’s a higher catering to casual players with Infinity Ward’s games, and also clear that they believe casual players enjoying the game is more important than the hardcore player experience.

Deplatforming works

Gamers and not understanding shit about game development, name a more iconic duo. But I agree with others that it gave us this awesome opportunity to see things we normally don’t get to see, and I love it.

...those monsters on Reddit and Twitter might finally be useful for something!

what im getting from this is that in order to see more behind the scenes footage of game development and a better understanding on how triple a games are produced, we need to generate takes so nightmarishly bad that developers will have no choice but to dunk on them

Man that sucks. He does a great job in that role.

Absolutely. I have a Series S precisely because I could find one at retail without having to line up digitally or IRL. I’m not interested in jumping through hoops for consoles, so I’ll wait until I can buy an X and then sell my S or give it to a buddy.

There are so many Series S units that they’re having sales on them.

Apparently it is trivially easy to turn a series S console into an emulation box. It can run basically everything up to ps2 with little trouble.

I’m forever reminded that when discussion online features for the Wii U a third party dev mentioned things on PSN or Xbox Live only to be met with blank stares because people inside of Nintendo had never used them.

I understand the idea of preferring the Nintendo way but to not even study the competition? It boggles

Oh, it’s worse. In the section for roleplaying, it asks if you’re “are a SJW warrior pushing your values on others.” This is absolute far-right basement dwelling edgelord shit.

God, that sounds like something (an even worse version of) South Park would come up with in a bit about how “something offensive is popular, so the kids try to out-offend in yet another get rich quick scheme”

My first response was actually “How did this game even get this far along, it genuinely sounds like FATAL...” It’s been ages since I’ve read it, but I feel like even FATAL managed to be a little more subtle. Leaving the racism to in-universe descriptions rather than having the book just outright state it like that.

I mean relocating to an entirely different state isn’t exactly the best prerequisite for compensation, it doesn’t make them look that much better.
