I’m following the development of that one also. For some reason, they don’t update the KS page very often, but they do have (?) updates on their Twitter page, like this one from just last month, (although, it doesn’t say that this is a new screenshot ... just a lousy #screenshotsaturday) ...

YASSS!

I wanted to like it ... in fact, I was really looking forward to it. The whole film just tried so hard to emulate the source material and wound up falling flat as a result. It was like hand holding a newb through what was cool in the 80's by someone who read one zine article titled “What was cool in the 80's”, then

Ha! Even Michael Ironside couldn’t save that mess.

Here are two that did reach their goals: The first is Thunderbeam!, an iOS game that has been in development for almost four years now, (looks great ... I wish it would come out, but updates are scarce), and the second is Lioness, which took a turn for the worse when one of the dev team’s members died of mesothelioma

Anything inspired by Eric Chahi’s “Out of this World” is a win in my book. Yeah, the 80's aesthetic works so well with this, probably because it falls back on the weird essence of the 80's and doesn’t rely on “look a rubiks cube/delorean/power glove” tropes that so many others do.

We will wonder no more ....

Eegads ...

Is this being released in the US? I can only find preorder info for overseas retailers.

It might rub some the wrong way, but the creators are working stiffs. They’ll come through standing tall for sure.

I mentioned on the last post that I was an employee of FuncoLand during the transition to GameStop, but did not mention how my relationship ended with the company. I had been with the company for 3 years, and our team knew our jobs and did them well. We would sell subs, we would get preorders, we had a rapport with

Went in for the PS4 version of Shantae: Half Genie Hero six days after launch, (the day after Christmas). They told me that the drawer full of copies they had were reserved for pre-orders, again, SIX days after launch. Before I went in, I saw on Gamestop’s website that they had multiple copies for sale in this

I love how this game looks and I am a big fan of both the things you mentioned in comparison ... but neither Bill Plimpton or Machinarium bear any resemblance to this except that one is a cartoon and the other is point-and-click.

semantics aside, it’s still hilarious.

My gut hurts from laughing so hard at the Inspector Gadget entry.

I know right, (says the owner of 38 unique consoles and a CIB Sega CD and 32X collection).

True that

As soon as I saw him on stage before the presentation, I listened to his set, then immediately whipped out my old “Jelly Tones” CD ... still amazing. Just listen to “Extra” and tell me your not pumped after it kicks in about 2 minutes in.

Wow, this is craziness .... I was just emailing James Caruso back and forth about possibly allowing my team to do a version of Starcade for charity, asking only for the right to use the logo on t-shirts, (to which he responded, in a round-about way, no). He ended the email with a comment that he and his company, JM
