That aesthetic has me hooked already. Really reminiscent of Fantavision and the PS2 Bust-A-Move titles as well as your aforementioned.

I do not. I keep in the North America spectrum of systems, mainly because I need to draw the line somewhere. Also, I don’t read Japanese, and while the games on the PC-FX look awesome, I would have to be able to know what was going on.
CD-I had mostly terrible games, but man, it’s the only way to play a physical copy of “The 7th Guest” at home on a console, Burn: Cycle was pretty amazing for its time, and “Thunder in Paradise” starring Terry “Hulk” Hogan is worth the price of admission alone. So bad they’re good!
This could totally be a flop too. Am I worried? Not at all. The little I have seen shows me its quirky enough to hold my interest. While there are a bunch of awful titles in all the consoles I mentioned, there are some really amazing titles as well. One could argue a system like, say, the Wii was mostly garbage, but…
This is exactly why I’ll be buying a PlayDate ... it is weird. It’s the reason I own a CD-I, a 3DO, a full Sega CD and 32X library, and even a full Samsung Nuon library, (all 7 US titles!!), among others. All of these tried something new. Even when weird falls flat, at least it’s different from the glut of sameness…
I recently wrapped up writing the branching trees of dialogue for a crime scene detective game. Court dramas and cop shows are not usually my cup of tea, but I had to watch a helluva lot of them to get in to the mindset. On top of that, I set up and conducted interviews with a few ex cons to see how they would react…
This constant need to reinvent the word “zombie” is so redundant. Are we to believe that in every new instance of (disease outbreak that obliterates humanity by bringing them back from the dead) plot that no one in these worlds knows the word “zombie”? Why call them…
This is textbook manic depression. Scary, scary places are brought to light when those afflicted don’t have the right help.
I am a huge fan of Chahi’s work and I’ll be watching this one. This didn’t really tell me much of what one does in game, but if his past work is any indication, it will be something unique that sets itself apart from the glut of other VR titles.
I’m usually right there with you on review/thinly-veiled marketing pitches, but I really hate this “cookie”. Milano’s are dry, chalky.... generally comparable to kennel food in texture. If you love em, that’s ok too, but my tastes prefer real food.

I thought before watching, “How bad could it be”?
It already has a few issues, (NHL 94 on Sega CD freezing right after the start of a match being found most recently by myself and a few others). Don’t get me wrong, it’s fantastic overall and once it’s brought to Kevtris’s attention he’ll work to make it right.
I’m a hugger, but man, when I get some monstrous dude who slaps the hell out of my back repeatedly, or bear hugs me until i can feel my ribcage compress the air out of my lungs I need to find a safe space to expunge man tears.
I noticed, and said Whaaa .. whoa!
Are we sure that’s cosplay and not actually Slipknot above? What a great marketing gimmick to promote their upcoming album.
I started sowing the seeds pretty early on with my kids, (one just turned 5, the other is almost 2), but not by showing them the actual games. In fact, I don’t think there was ever one time I played a game while they were in the room. I bought both of them various 8 bit mascot plushies, (Princess Peach, Kirby, etc).…
I swear every home in Southeastern PA built before the 1940's with a common wall was the same developer. Craziness.
Woah, I can smell the Philly/Reading/Lancaster from that first picture sitting in my house.
