I think Kojima is about one of the only Japanese devs who managed to make a really great PC version of his game, so it’s pretty sad that Konami can’t even use his engine correctly now he’s had to leave it behind with them.

Nice! The FFVIII inspiration makes me very optimistic indeed - it was a flawed but amazing game, and probably my favorite despite knowing how many issues it had - and even the summons in XV feel like VIII’s GF cut scenes. Begrudgingly getting hyped...
