Most of the criticism I read focused specifically on the plot being hard to follow. Aside from that, I disagree with pretty much everything you wrote - I thought it was hilarious and very much felt like a PTA film. I haven't read the book, so I can't speak to comparison between the two, but I found the film incredibly

As do I. I've been thinking a lot about it this last week, as my bafflement at people's confusion regarding the plot of this season of True Detective gave me intense flashbacks to similar feelings whenever someone talked about Inherent Vice. They're both fairly straightforward stories to me, just laid out in odd ways.

Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Looks like the BBC series he did, A Young Doctor's Notebook, was just added as well.

I got really excited when I saw Ames' name in the trailer, and then that was immediately deflated when Seth McFarlane's name popped up next. Here's hoping he has very limited creative input.

I wonder if he scheduled it 10 years ago and had already moved it twice?

I remember watching Trailer Park Boys for the first time and being baffled by a character displaying a Confederate flag. I had no idea our racist neighbors to the north had embraced it.

Michaela Watkins was really pulling off that outfit.

And him silently trying to get her to touch her nose, trying to take the bullet for her.

Oh I didn't mean to imply it wasn't, I just made the connection between shock rockers in ultra-violent indies.

If this is twice as good as Strangeland it'll be terrible.

Z-O-O-T S-U-I-T

Scott Pilgrim, too, though a lot of people hate him in that so your mileage may vary.

Now I Wanna Sniff Some BOO

Is there a new Wet Hot review today since they got off schedule? Or are you waiting until tomorrow to get back on?

Mm, yes, points.

Zak Orth is great at just quietly killing it with reactions and looks.

I definitely think it's as good. Not ready to declare it better until I've watched the series a few more times.

I will never be able to watch Stabler chase a perp with a straight face again. God damnit that run/skip/float was amazing.

I love that part of the Zoot Suit song is just them spelling Zoot Suit. I hope one day they expand it into a Zoot Suite.

I dunno, Velcoro had a very compelling argument for the judges involving dismembered heads entering them in unpleasant places, I'd say he's got the Detetcie wrapped up this year.
