I don't wish to get into the nitty-gritty of this thread and the issues being laid out... but I do have something to say about the idea of modesty/rejection of modesty/pressure and shame.

baby, you speaking truth but they ain't ready.

just commenting to show my support. :)

YES. So much yes.

Read the second half of her comment and you'll see what the problem is.

I'm not bothered by 'judging' people who promote bigotry against a marginalized group of people based on sexuality and physical appearance. If you're against over-sexualization in general, that's fine, don't sexualize yourself. But when you try to put a limit on another adult's consensual, legal sexuality and impose

Yes. It's great. So dismissive.

I want this to be the newest "MISANDRY" gif. Just look at how much she despises that phallic banana! She just throws it away!

That selfie stick, though. Good lord, man. Dude's in shape.

This is no shock to anyone who's ever requested that a dude call sexual harassment out when he sees it or said "Men don't listen to women about this stuff; men listen to other men about this stuff."

When someone advocates domestic abuse I think it is noteworthy and they deserve to be called out for it.

It's got a TV-14 rating, which despite what the Parents' Television Council may think is the appropriate rating for a show with no nudity, swearing or violence. Similar content in movies receives a PG-13 rating.

Does anyone still take the PTC seriously? I mean, I remember being 13 and thinking they were a bunch of pearl-clutchers. And I have to say, I caught a glimpse of MTV the other day. The videos on there are far more tame than they were when I was a teenager, a decade ago.

Last time I checked, the care and well-being of ANY child fell strictly on the shoulders of the legal guardian - not on anyone else.

How about if you think MTV is too inappropriate for your kids then you dont let them watch it...???

Tone it down? But many of us have to write 3,000-word essays on what this year's VMA performances Deeply Mean to American Society.
