There was a moment in the escape scene — specifically when Simmons hits the roof and doesn't see any extraction team — where I thought they were going to pull a huge reversal on us and have the whole thing be a setup to expose Simmons' SHIELD loyalties.

My guess is that she is the same thing as Skye, whatever that might turn out to be, but has known she is special in some way for much longer than Skye has.

"I'll bury you up to your neck in manure" doesn't hold a candle to "I'll tear you up like a kleenex at a snot party"

Science, of course, is the approach to life wherein you steadfastly refuse to accept or acknowledge any empirical observations until you can come up with an explanation for them that uses only things you already know and understand.

Oh, I doubt we'll see more big shots like the last one — but they'll probably try to do some cheap workarounds to "show" the dome contracting while completely avoiding showing anything interesting, illustrative or cool.

It was the cliffhanger end to the episode, so we've only seen it JUST begin to shrink — depicted as the ground buckling a little bit on the inside as a chasm forms on the outside. I'm sure we'll see more next week — and also sure that absolutely none of your questions will be addressed.

I think she just meant it was loud and frequent in the final audio mix

Though many people make that inference, "laugh track" doesn't exclusively mean canned laughter. Whether it's false or recorded from a live studio audience, it's on a separate audio track from the actors — thus "laugh track"

You mean the ostrich, right?

I like M*A*S*H, but it's definitely notable how Goodbyeee effortlessly nails the mix of comedy and tragedy that M*A*S*H only occasionally achieved in 11 seasons' worth of attempts…

It doesn't directly address your question, but the guys at Extra Credits (who usually talk about videogame design) have just revived their Extra History series, and the first few episodes are focusing on WW1. Part one is out, and personally I think it's excellent (all about the circumstances that led up to the war).

…but infuriating how they implied that Angie being mad about it is just the dome trying to mess with him, and not what Angie would really feel.

If it makes you feel any better, I thought the exact same thing and jumped back to confirm (much to my disappointment). Of course, it doesn't excuse the completely implausible sentence he overheard either way.

It's a testament to how forgettable Heroes (which I initially admit to being hugely excited by) turned out to be that it wasn't until just now I realized I'd seen the whole "vague prophetic paintings" thing before.

I imagine that being allowed to look at the city for too long would have exposed a lot of flaws. That whole sequence survived on the fact that it was too fast and chaotic for you to focus on anything and really notice how dumb it looked, instead delivering an overall feeling of "good enough" video game graphics.

jeeze dude, relax. I stand corrected.

As a historian friend of mine likes to put it, "the Boer wars were the first time in nearly 100 years that the British faced enemy soldiers with shoes"

Indeed. It always makes me think of the common sci-fi trope of being at the mercy of a mindless/purely logical computer, which can be deeply chilling even in the midst of comedy (see: Fry trapped in the Robot Asylum), because it evokes the same kind of terror. But in many ways it's even more terrifying because it's

Not the BEST map joke in the series though. That goes to "What's the scale of this map?" / "1:1 sir…"

Yeah he tells the story on QI — whether it's in an episode or one of the extra clips I can't recall…
