Indeed. It's almost impossible to imagine all the historical changes that might spin out from that within even a few years. A lot was riding on those poisoned riding gloves.

It's kind of hard to say, because Tommen is a bit of a cypher right now. He's mild-mannered and never ever expected to be king, but who really knows what wheels are turning in his head now that he's been crowned and has Natalie Dormer sneaking into his room at night?
One other way Tyrion could get out: someone (likely Margaery — though I'm not sure what her motivation would be exactly, but it wouldn't be hard to come up with one — or Jamie) could convince Tommen to defy Tywin and allow him to take the black. Even though Tommen formally recused himself, he *is* the king — if he…
Hah that would be great. My pet alternate history is: the assassination of Konan of Brittany fails, so William is forced to lead part of his army to re-take Normandy before deporting the English nobles there, then while he's gone Edgar the Aetheling rises in rebellion and seizes the throne for the TRUE Anglo-Saxon…
Well, at the moment Tywin does, because Tommen recused himself — but what if someone (Marjory? Jaime?) convinced Tommen to step back up and pardon Tyrion? Tywin would surely push back saying Tommen already recused hmself, but he'd have a hard time openly contradicting the new king in public once a decree had been made.
Yeah, same — and after he didn't, I was still sure he was going to die. Then when he did his flying final strike while the Mountain was on his knees, I thought he was going to get the "quick-drawn second sword through the chest" routine. When that strike landed, there was a brief two seconds where I thought I was…
Woah woah woah. Yeah, an arrow at Hastings… two weeks after routing the Norwegian army at Stamford Bridge, defeating the even-cooler-named Harald Hardrada and changing the course of English history forever. Let's not get all down on the guy just because he wasn't able to pull a second low-odds military victory out of…
Agreed. And it's not even the words she said that made me think that — it's the look on the Hound's face immediately after. As if for a split second he saw it happening in his mind and knew it was true.
Sure — but compare what we got to the voiceover montage of her setting out on the mission, which was so grand and intense it made it seem like they were declaring that it would be a lengthy adventure plot and central to the season. Then it was resolved in a single scene that is barely longer than said montage.
50% FML, 50% laughing at the Hound
Everyone's wondering about the rules for that, but really, there are no rules that matter, just as there never have been in any situation on this show. It's just a matter of who plays their hand and how. As it stands he's been declared guilty, but there are an infinite number of ways Martin could give him to get out…
I'd love to trust that it has a purpose, but after the Watch mutineers storyline and the Yara rescue mission storyline, both of which served zero purpose and changed absolutely nothing in the larger arcs (though the former was at least enjoyable) it's hard to have much confidence.
Anyone who didn't see the "last minute twist" coming at the start of the fight hasn't been paying enough attention, because the moment Oberyn started showboating he was doomed. Syrio's undetermined fate aside, this show does not reward fancy fighters.
Here to join the chorus of late commenters who accidentally missed the final review… I really wish Classics would go back on the front page!
Though I haven't heard him say anything about the young wife, on the O&A show a while ago Louis insisted that the casting of his adult wife was simply based on her audition with no real thought given to the fact that she's black — and I *suspect* he'd make the same claim about the young version being white. To…
ah, did Quinn definitely get it? I couldn't remember exactly how that played out or where it ended up… seemed like it might have been somewhere in the facility where they killed Garret and might have ended up back in SHIELD's hands
yeah but the part about what exactly the deal with the half-alien is (show still hasn't confirmed its a Kree; we don't know where it came from or any of the backstory there) is probably going to be pretty important next season, and tied in with all the Skye/Monster stuff
Here's another question for your list: where did the gravitonium end up, and is there still a guy trapped inside it?
I'm pretty sure the "incentive program" was just supposed to darkly refer to the fact that they had captive family members (or some equivalent form of blackmail) on all their employees
aha, "drop ceiling" — I knew there was a term I was missing for that frame-suspended office-type ceiling stuff. The tiles are still made of plaster though, no?
