Yeah, I dunno why I keep thinking it’s possible to be friends with men. It’s why I get so pissed off about the “friendzone”—I spent my adolescence with boys guilt tripping me about the friendzone when it isn’t even a thing.

After my divorce I thought I could be friends with men. I met some new men that I had no interest in dating but seemed cool, but it turns out they all just want to fuck me. Even one of the “good ones” that really seemed trustworthy. It’s all bullshit. Also dating sucks.
Logically I know it’s not my fault. But there’s a lot of ingrained behavior that needs unlearning as well... Things I automatically excuse and things that aren’t “worth” making a big deal about. It’s amazing to watch it all happen. This is a wonderful (if very long) take on the whole picture: ““It’s an absolutely…
Thank you <3
Robin Williams is the best tho <3
Fucking everyone loves him. I don’t get it. Sometimes he gives good advice but god I’ve never liked him.
Are you suggesting by saying “no” I’m not doing enough to say “no”?
No, but I would believe that he raped her.
It’s so fucked up. I’ve spent so much mental and emotional energy wondering if I just give off a “here’s a girl who won’t say no” vibe, whatever the fuck that means, because I do say no and they either don’t believe it or it just doesn’t process or something.
It’s so true...
Thank you so much for mentioning Dan Savage. I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
I’m so thankful she brought up Misty Upham. It’s so unsettling and heartbreaking that we still don’t really know what happened to her.
It’s my birthday weekend and this Latina is gonna spend the whole time drinking and watching Black Panther
By the way, women HAVE been talking about it for a long ass time. From today’s NYT: “But Ms. Goodman and Ms. Wolov said that when they told others about the incident in the Colorado hotel room, they heard that Louis C.K.’s manager was upset that they were talking about it openly.” https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/09/art…
Fucking duh. Maybe believe women when they talk about it the first time? https://www.nytimes.com/2017/11/09/arts/television/louis-ck-sexual-misconduct.html
I have a friend on the stand-up circuit. She says her friends have known about Louis CK for years, that he has masturbated in front of unconsenting women, followed women who have rejected him, and generally tried to use his fame to be a sleaze. They’ve known about it for years, some have tried to report it.
Hi Louis! Welcome to Jezebel, where we all know you’re trash :)
I don’t believe in any God. But you can’t disprove people’s faith in God with science. You can disprove flat earth with science. That’s my point.
You are, of course, allowed to have an opinion. As a “middle aged white male with an open mind” I’m sure you feel very confident in the fact that you’re allowed to have an opinion.
That literally makes you Gen Y. I’m 34 and I’m not Gen X so..... You’re definitely a millenial. Sorry to break it to you.
