Even when the woman is the domme, it still sounds degrading. This man is a racial fetishist, he calls her disgusting names, she admittedly isn’t aroused by these sex acts...so why is she servicing him? Why is she even giving him the time of day? This reads like a parody of the worst sex-positive libfem takes.

There can't ever be a healthy BDSM relationship when half of the party abuses and humiliates the other four sexual gratification. No amount of "aftercare" makes up for the fact that the Dom is literally beating the sub.

The suspicion that my dinner with friends has become a narrative device in his erotic fantasy begins to engulf me with all the heat and dread of a woman’s consciousness.”

Dear everyone at G/O,

And yet, how many prominent, previously-respected figures have turned into the internet’s favorite whipping boy for much smaller crimes? It feels like Cosby gets a huge pass. “But look at the good he did!” But he was only allowed to do what he did because he was given that pass in the firsts place.

This documentary was advertised to me on social media. At least 75% of the comments on the post were defending Cosby, mostly insinuating the victimized women were whores who were asking for it. At first I was shocked. I knew there were a few hold outs for Cosby, but I had no idea just how many.

Their face when they posted that bullshit:

In countries in which abortion is legal in cases of rape, how the heck does that work? People rarely believe women who say they were raped anyway. Is there a whole trial before the abortion is permitted? This caveat just does not work at all.

I’m definitely pro choice. You can’t judge anyone’s personal circumstances. I used to live by a port, lots of women coming in from ireland, to get to the nearest city for an abortion. Women in from poverty with 9 kids, who had neglected their own health so the kids could eat. Girls just scraping into puberty, pregnant

I like how one I watched, the heroine came to visit with one small suitcase.  Yet every scene she has different trendy outfit with matching shoes and purses.  No way those clothes fit in her luggage.

While this is focused on Christmas, the “Hollywood Jobs” that women routinely have in movies has been a thing ever since women’s roles weren’t exclusively based in the home.

That’s funny. Also they work in “marketing”and have an executive office in a high rise by age 25.

Historically and academically, “middle class” referred to the bourgeoisie. Essentially, those who were wealthy, but not actually members of the nobility. What we today (especially in the US) would call the middle class was known as the working class. While the UK has seen some of the same shift in terminology, I

They are no way middle class. Not British middle class. They are within the 1%. British Upper Class but with working class roots. They are not aristocracy however and so are considered ‘lower’ class by any member of the aristocracy.

Brit here and yes all these things are true. I don’t think the article puts Kate down at all. It lays out the facts of her royal life, which is a carefully curated existance.

What does Meghan have to do with this comment? Nothing, it seems. So why did you bring her up?

It is true. Look at what she’s praised for and what Meghan is criticized for.

I’m struck by how similar the public presentation of Kate & Ivanka is. The polished photos, the nods to causes, the careful use of their children as props at this stage, etc.
