Many others have said this already, but the point of wearing a mask and getting a vaccine is to protect others, less so than yourself. The vaccine will fall far short of its intended effect unless the vast majority of us get it.

There is nothing wrong with talking about weight loss but the way that Bill Maher does it about making some people feel superior as you have said. It’s not about looking at the real causes of obesity in America. We know that this is a complex issue. 

It’s also a fact that correlation and causation are separate issues, and that people who already have problems that limit their ability to exercise “all the time” may be more vulnerable to comorbidities because of those problems.

I’m sure this Olympic gold medal winner who is currently in hospital suffering from COVID and needing oxygen is relieved to know that since he’s “healthy” he doesn’t need to get vaccinated.

But what of you are young and healthy and have a previously unknown congenital heart defect? A friend of mine from college died at 28 a month after getting married from a previously undetected heart defect. 

The problem is it is too late (to not listen to him), so many people listen to him! My friends’ significant others all worship him. His popularity (along with Peterson) is almost normalized in my neck of the woods.
