The big problem IIRC was CG transfer as you burned fuel, but there were some frightening aerodynamic tendencies during transonic flight that tended to make your plane not a plane anymore.

The MiG 21 wasn’t exaclty known for being easy to fly. Indian Air Force pilots called it the Flying Coffin
The music had me laughing. The slow motion boot kicking the antler rat out of his car is fucking perfect.
While not this extreme, I drove the pass from Lake City, CO to American Basin in my E39 Touring. 20 miles of washouts and soccer-ball sized rocks made for a nervous few hours and a less-than-pleased spouse. But hey, the view’s nice. (not my pic)
I never did anything that crazy as a kid. Even when I drove a ‘68 Toronado I never went above 90 or so. However, as an adult now, I’ll happily do 110 through Wyoming.
Oh say wow.
I had an LCI 525iT and still have an LCI 540i. I guess I don’t remember what the pre-facelift Touring taillights look like. I assume the pre-LCIs had ambers.
Are there long enough straights on any of the US interstates? Seems like I70 through Nebraska could handle such speeds if it weren’t a public road.
Hnnnnnggf. What year? Are those tail lights pre lci? Could be the red throwing me off. Time for a Getrag 420G swap.
Sometimes I forget that E36 Tourings exist. That’s Boston Green Metallic, yeah?
His profession is blogging. Don’t confuse Gawker for the Grey Lady. Torch is the most entertaining contributer to this site and his job is enviable.
Dude’s too busy driving tanks to waste time on silly things like editing. Give him a break. His job is way cooler than yours.
From this day forward I will pronounce “Bahama” as “buh-HAY-muh.” Because BuhHAYmuh Todd is the best phrase ever.
Damn. That think looks hawt.
What’s it with big name pastry chefs and mayonnaise? Sam Mason (Empire Mayonnaise) was huge in fine dining pastry before the mayo shop. Last time (a few years back at the Aspen F&W) I saw Johnny Iuzzini (pastry chef at Jean Georges) he was repping Hellman’s.
And here we have a perfect example of someone who didn't get the joke.
That’s a really good angle for the Impala. I’d never thought it was much of a looker. Maybe it’s the SS trim. Clip the back a bit and you almost have an E39. Cool car. Thanks for learnin’ me something.
“The states of “Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina” are expected to be effected the most, according to WIAT.”
Are you new here? Right when Okulski left and went to R&T 1/3 of the links were a dumb lede to a sentence to a click to a R&T piece. This is tolerable.
Everyone in this thread is correct.
