Please kill off Strange in the second movie and have Tina Minoru take his place, thank you.

Am I the only one who has zero problems with either poster? This all just smells to me of the need to have a hot take on just about everything these days.

I think orientalism in this context means that the East is full of magical stuff and people that are the solution to West’s problems. And there would be something to that, provided Melisandre weren’t constantly and royally fucking things up.

I’ll never forgive the showrunners for bringing up and then not resolving Quaithe. There’s still a chance Melisandre will meet with her in the final season, though I doubt it.

They wrote that it botches the Scandinavian crime genre, not that it’s set in Scandinavia. Maybe read properly first before you accuse others of ineptitude?

The “oops, wrong funeral/church” is an old The Vicar of Dibley joke. And I’m sure someone had made it even before that show, so they didn’t steal shit.

Also if the staff is enough to open the portal why go through all the trouble of assembling the scythe?

Most important business first: where the hell was Rollo!? You can’t just take that floof away from us because he’s “not integral to the episode”. Do better, show. Though I do commend them for obviously casting those First Nations actors at a modeling agency. Jamie starts looking so basic to me whenever they’re around.

Sophie trying to squeeze out a tear was legitimately a horror show; those sounds and facial contortions made it look like she was having a fit! Lynch is so good at playing this loathsome deplorable character that you just love to hate.

Midge telling Declan her reason for choosing that painting was really sweet, but that whole artist part dragged for me. Love how it was only important that Rose boasted loudly at the butcher shop that she had bagged the rabbi but no one actually gave a crap about him when he finally arrived. I disagree with the

I’m not familiar with the source material but I didn’t get a Resident Evil vibe from that teaser at all. What I did get was something that has whimsy coming out of its ass and is maybe trying too hard to be edgy. But I’ll watch the whole thing anyway because I’m intrigued as hell.

This show’s Lenny Bruce is the only TV character that makes me weak in the knees. What a smooth-talking bastard he is. And such a charismatic actor as well. He’s the perfect match for Midge but I know nothing will ever happen there. Oh, well, Shazam it is then.

Such a good episode and then the friggin’ Shazam turned up and my boner died on the spot. Eurgh, hate that guy.

Yeah, the narcissism jumped out at the wedding toast. I now understand better the intention behind that scene in the drag bar in the first episode. I thought it was insensitive writing but now I see it was intentional, so as to show Midge as utterly self-absorbed.

It’s not just the execution. I understand this “no topic is off-limits for comedy” argument but it’s only ever said by straight white men who just looove to joke about rape, fags, and we all know what else. How about once in a while they joke about themselves being middle-aged losers whose only discernible talent is to

That movie title kinda sucks?

Loved the premiere but the straight white lady taking over the stage in a gay bar is a scene only another straight white lady could write. It was quite remarkable watching the tone-deafness and the utter self-absorption unfold like that before our eyes.

Hopefully, the second season of The Terror will be just as excellent and the subject matter is even more serious and timely. There’s no way they’ll be able to ignore them then.

Sharp Objects was neither “obvious award bait” nor “very meh”; it was one of the best TV shows of the past few years and far surpassed BLL in my eyes. I shudder to think what your personal picks for the best TV drama would be.

Yeah, I think they’ll look at the viewing figures very carefully but still pull the plug immediately after the season wraps up. Such a shame. I like Fuller’s aesthetic a lot but him leaving so many shows in recent years points to a bit of an attitude problem. Also, I dislike the actors being so intensely tied to the
