I was big in to these cars 20 years ago (had an AE92 SR5 and an AW11.) There was a pretty solid forum (Club4ag, IIRC) and it looks like it’s still around and not a total ghost town.

I dunno, my experiences with the DMV have been mostly positive, even with buying no-title motorcycles out of storage units in my 20s. It’s bureaucratic, but they’ve always been clear about what documentation I needed to produce, timelines and costs.

CVT’s aren’t that bad especially if you have a little torque or an electric motor behind it. I’m really, beyond happy with the one in my ‘13 Camry Hybrid. It just works, mash the pedal and go with no more lag and smoother than any of the 3/4-speed autos I’ve ever owned.

Agreed. I spent most of my 20s riding old Honda 4s and a VFR800 (heavy, 70-100hp-ish) and borrowed a 1098 for a few hours. It was an experience, and there was one particular highway overtake where I think I briefly entered hyperspace, but it convinced me I do not need or want a bike with that kind of power.

I have to believe that 75% of boats like that are an effort to evade taxes. Buy it on your business’ behalf to ‘take clients out,’ use the expenses/depreciation to lower your taxable income/profit and ayyy you got a place for you and your buddies to party and bang your mistresses.

Sounds like the kind of thing my dad in his buddies would have run when they ran on choppers in the ‘70s. They had a lot of stories about failing to make turns and running straight into hillsides and clearing barb-wire fences when leaving an elevated grade. 

Yeah, and the displacement (and there for effort required to move) goes up faster than topside surface area so your solar/wind generation probably wouldn’t be sufficient.
