I wouldn’t even pay $56k on a new Durango

My top sighting has to be back in ~2006 in Rome seeing a Ferrari Enzo parked on the street out front of a fancy restaurant. It was on a calm side street on the cobblestones down from Piazza Del Popolo. Gawked for a bit and took some pics, then moved on.

This new Escape feels to Fisher-Price to me, like a little kid’s toy

None of them. They’re all terrible and need to be crushed into cubes.

I rode in one of these once and the thing that stuck out as most annoying was the incorrect placement of the window up/down switches in the middle console ahead of the gear shift, as opposed to on the doors as God intended. You can see it in the very last picture above.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. It feels like it needs a badge or something in the middle to break up the space a bit. I prefer the previous gen sedan grills that were flat at the bottom instead of the pointiness of these.

We’ll see Hoovie in a few years saying “I just bought the cheapest Bugatto Chiron Sport In America” and take it to the Car Wizard with all the dash lights glowing.

The front end makes me think of the new Jeep Wagoneer with the lights going all the way across the toothy grill area.

The new face looks good and should hopefully help it sell better and look more truck-like. But I think part of its image issue also has to do with the powertrain - who wants a FWD truck?! 4WD should be standard across all trims.

They’re just taking the Lotus approach to simplify and add lightness

‘86 Subaru Wagon in high school had hill grabber clutch. It was pretty nice when getting stuck on hills in Seattle.

Looks very nice! Previously owned a 2011 version which was pretty good, would definitely consider picking up one of these. But why is the standard-hybrid version FWD only??

I always thought the Bolt and Volt were cool from a drivetrain/proof of concept perspective, but I could never figure out why GM just sat back and said “that’s great! we’re done.” and did nothing else with them. They showed the BEV and PHEV drivetrains worked, so the next step should have been to expand to every other …

Buying tires is hard, since you can’t really try them without committing to a purchase. This seems like a good approach for finding basic tires. If you don’t need anything special is there anything wrong with going with the cheapest option? Are there any bad tires out there or are they all generally decent? Obviously…

These are all shitty cars and should never have been purchased. Lose them all except for maybe the Durango and/or Crossfire.

I’m one with my ‘03 Explorer pusing 195k miles. It has some quirks but generally runs pretty great.
